Specializing in leadership development, Jan Day Gravel brings more than fifteen years of professional experience working with clients to achieve their preferred future. Her goal is to enable people to "lead with their brain in mind" and increase not only their individual capacities but those of their team to get the results they desire. Jan integrates her artistic skills into her work as a facilitator and trainer by representing concepts, experiences, and insights graphically to participants, thereby reinforcing their learning.
A certified Emergenetics® specialist, Jan works with clients to understand how they are genetically wired with a tendency to think and behave in certain ways and how this influences their leadership style. Her work with Federal sector agencies, corporations, not-for-profit organizations, and community initiatives has helped thousands of individuals achieve greater personal satisfaction and improve their performance, thus increasing their organizations' rate of Return on Investment (ROI).
Jan is the only person in the United States to serve as the Executive Director for five community leadership programs simultaneously. Her expertise in developing effective community coalitions has achieved concrete results focused on education, environment, government, and the judiciary. For example, Jan organized a leadership coalition that successfully elected nine new School Board candidates on an core of beliefs, thus setting the stage to end one of the longest running desegregation suits in the United States.
A life long learner, Jan holds a Master's degree in Conflict Resolution and a Bachelor's degree in Art Education. In addition to Emergenetics, she is certified in Harvard's Interest-based Negotiation training, Joel Barker's Implications Wheel, and the Apter International's motivational styles assessment tool.
